What’s In a Name?…Sigma Additive Solutions
Yesterday, Sigma Labs announced that beginning immediately, we are operating as Sigma Additive Solutions. This move reflects the evolution of Sigma from its origins as a laboratory, engaged in research and development of 3D metal printing technology, into a solutions provider focused on helping its customers and OEM partner providers use a standard set of patented quality metrics. Sigma solutions span 3D printers from different manufacturers, using different processes, for both metal and polymer parts.
Sigma is a Founding Member of ASTM International Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence Consortium for Materials Data and Standardization (CMDS)
We are proud to be a founding member of the consortium, whose mission is to bring key organizations together from across a broad range of industries representing the entire AM value stream. As Sigma CEO Jacob Brunsberg put it, “The entire Sigma Labs team is delighted to be collaborating with part producers and end users through this ASTM Consortium to map key items from feedstock production through final QC/material data sets. Our mission is to support the growth of the industry by providing visibility into in-process quality that can provide data to link the process workflow and help form standards that can accelerate material and process development.”
This week, our Sigma team is at the RAPID + TCT Conference May 17-19 at the TCF Center in Detroit, MI. As a sponsor, we are showcasing our PrintRite3D solution and how it contributes to machine, process and part health. Joining us in our booth is our newest partner, Sentient Science Corporation. We’ll also be demonstrating several new features and details about partner relationships that have large benefits to customers and the industry. If you are at the conference, please come visit us at booth 2125.
Next week, May 23-25, you can find some of the Sigma Additive Solutions team in Long Beach, CA, at the Long Beach Convention Center. We will be co-exhibiting with our partner Additive Industries, at booth 7001. The theme of this year’s conference is maintaining and growing a strategic, strong and inclusive US space supply chain and you can register for free.
Whatever role you play in your organization and the industry, our Sigma Additive Solutions team intends to support you in every way possible. Contact us if we can help you in any way or to learn more about Sigma Additive Solutions.
