AcGovDustrial Network: Collaborating on Research and AM Standardization
Last week, Sigma announced the formation of the new In-Situ “AcGovDustrial” Network as a way of formalizing our ongoing program of working with universities, research labs, government organizations and industrial companies to provide a platform for improving collaboration related to in-situ monitoring and real-time analysis for quality assurance, certification, and qualification of additively manufactured parts.
Dr. Nima Shamsei, Director of the National Center for Additive Manufacturing Excellence at Auburn University commented on the network, “Auburn’s relationship with Sigma Additive is a shining example of the power of the AcGovDustrial program. Auburn is working closely with Sigma on projects with the FAA, Army, and NASA, while also jointly contributing to ASTM Consortium for Materials Data and Standardization (CMDS).”

Dyndrite Welcomes Sigma Additive Solutions to Dyndrite Developer Council (DDC)
Earlier this month, we were happy to join the Dyndrite Developer Council (DDC). Dyndrite makes an accelerated computation engine that gives hardware and software companies the power, freedom and control necessary to deliver the future of digital manufacturing. DDC provides tools, resources and community for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), independent software vendors (ISVs), and service providers developing on the Dyndrite platform. This assists us in collaborating on standards needed for the industry as a whole, to positively influence technology directions, and to gain early access to new technologies being developed by Dyndrite and other developer council members.
In the press release announcement, Harshil Goel, CEO, Dyndrite Corporation stated, “Quality assurance with traceability, repeatability and calibration are critical components of any production manufacturing process. Our materials and process development tools for Laser Powder Bed Fusion are complemented by Sigma Additive Solutions’ technology.”
ASTM ICAM Conference
This year’s ASTM ICAM event, held in Orlando October 31 – Nov 4, promises to be informative event. If you attend, either for one day or the entire conference, look us up in the exhibitor area – we are Diamond sponsors. Better yet, say “hi” to our CTO Darren Beckett, who is an organizer and speaker of the panel session titled Process Control and In-Situ Monitoring Techniques in AM. Darren will talk about how in-process control and in-situ monitoring are becoming more essential, and how the fusion process can significantly impact quality of AM parts.
Our CTO, Darren Beckett, is a co-organizer of the track called Process Control and In-Situ Monitoring Techniques in AM. Also join Sigma speakers at these sessions:
Meet the New Addition to Sigma Executive Team
